We are always looking for new players to join the program!  Rugby is a fast paced game that originated from soccer and gave rise to both football and basketball. As you may expect, there are places for all kinds of people on a rugby team!

Rugby uses a variety of skills, some of which include passing, kicking, and running with the ball. There are places for all sizes of people, too, so don't worry if you think you're too small to play. Experience is not a requirement, either. Rugby is not a widely played sport in the U.S. so very few of our players have joined the team knowing how to play. Most of our players are converts from other sports who thought rugby looked interesting and decided to give it a try.

One of the great positives of the game of rugby is that it is a social sport. Joining our club is a great way to meet people and have a good time. Our team is very active and we regularly have get togethers.

An additional point about our club is a tradition of excellence. Over the past number of years, the OSU Rugby Football Club has finished at the top of the Pacific Northwest Rugby Union. Most recently, we have finished 5th (1999), 10th (1997) and 13th (2001) in the nation after playing in the NCAA national tournament. Our team has a great past, but we need new players that want to help carry on the legacy.

Our club can be contacted through the Department of Recreational Sports at Dixon Recreation Center on the OSU campus or visit our contacts page for more information. Hope to see you at practice soon!
