OSU Golden Anniversary - 50 years of Rugby E-mail

On Saturday, Oct. 29, 2011 we will be holding a very important celebration of 50 years of Rugby at Oregon State.  Although the first games were most likely played in the winter/spring of 1962 it was during the

1961-62 academic year that we believe the team was started.  We chose Oct. 29 as a date to held the celebration because there is no home football game that weekend and it is the only way we could get motel rooms and banquet facilities.  We will hold our annual Alumni game at 1:00 p.m. with the reception and banquet to start at 6:00 p.m. that evening.
To help commemorate this event we have some special offers for you.
1.  A photo album of 50 years of Rugby at Oregon State, $25.00.  Leatherbound copy $150.00.  This will be suitable for your coffee table and provide many of you with some great memories.
2.  A commemorative team sweater vest black with the Orange 0 on the lest breast and                          0
"OSU Rugby Gollden Anniversary               $45.00
1961-2011"
3.  A commemorative team polo, Black with the same insignia. $35.00
4.  We will be auctioning two items.
a.  A handmade quilt celebrating 50 years of Rugby at Oregon State
b.  An Encased Presidents OSU Rugby ball with Doctor Dawson's name, Woody Bennett's, and my signature
I have attached an invitation to the celebration, as well as, and RSVP form and a list of motels where we have pre-booked 60 rooms at a special price.  My suggestion is that you book early.  My hope is that as many of you as possible will do me a favor.
If you know that you will be attending please send or fax your registration in as soon as possible.  Tomorrow, this week, or next week if possible.  As I mentioned earlier I am going to be gone from 9/5 to 9/23, practice actually starts on 9/22 therefore you can imagine my time is precious to me.  If you could be so kind as to get your registration in as early as possible it will be of great assistance, not to mention relieve a great deal of stress.
Finally, if you or your spouse would be willing to help my wife Carla set up for the banquet  on the day of the 29th while I am out at the alumni game having fun, please let me know.
Thank you for your consideration and your continued support.
