Oregon State have best ever result at Pac Sevens Championship Tournament - November 2-3 2013 E-mail

Oregon State finished 3rd in the Pac Rugby Sevens Championship November 2-3 at UCLA. Day 1 saw a 3-1 finish with 3 successive pool wins over Stanford (36-0), Arizona (24-10) and Oregon (19-7) after a rusty opening loss to UCLA (41-0). The cross over semi-final against front running Cal was a slow starting match for Oregon State conceeding 4 tries before half time before recoveing in a more competitive second half conceeding 2 and scoring 1 to finish the match 42-7. This strong second half form was carried over into the consolation final against Arizona State who had lost a close semi-final to UCLA 19-10. Oregon State closed out the match 22-14 (4 tries to 2) with a strong front running performance against a very good side. This performance placed us in a position to receive a bid to the National Championships - November 23-24 in Greensboro, NC. See www.usacollege7s.com for more details
